Huntingdon 13 Long Buckby 29
Buckby’s attacking game has come on no end in the last couple of matches with another impressive 5 pointer. Huntingdon never looked like a bottom of the table team and looked threatening throughout and were first on the board. A typically slow start by Buckby let the Stags in in the corner and it looked like being a long, cold watch for the visiting supporters. Some typically hard running from the forwards and tough defence gradually wore the home side down and Buckby scored regularly and secured the bonus point with 10 mins to go. The game was played in a gale and Dan’s kicking game put his team in the right parts of the pitch but it was a highly motivated display from 1 to 18 that saw them home.
With matches against all their closest rivals in the coming weeks, there is plenty of work to do to be safe but with fire power like this, confidence will be running high.
